Who was, of course, half of Bob and Ray, two of the greatest comedians who ever lived. And who just turned 85, and who sounds as much like Bob as he ever did.
The world’s been a little less amusing since Ray Goulding left us eighteen years ago. And my week has been brightened immeasurably by this reminder that Bob is still with us, more than sixty years after the team got its start in Boston–and he’s still a grand master of radio comedy.

Bob also was interviewed on NPR Weekend Edition within the past month, and, aside from an occasional old-man stumble, he sounded like Bob all the way.
If you’re a big fan, I wonder if you’ve ever heard the sketch in which B&R are cowboys (on horses) who decide to stop for lunch? Yet, it seems neither knows how to dismount. For what seems like forever (which makes it ever funnier), the two commandeer their horses and make attempts to slide off the animal, alas to no avail.
