{"id":109,"date":"2005-11-20T02:10:33","date_gmt":"2005-11-20T06:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.harrymccracken.com\/hgr\/?p=109"},"modified":"2005-11-20T02:10:33","modified_gmt":"2005-11-20T06:10:33","slug":"flip-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harrymccracken.com\/blog\/2005\/11\/20\/flip-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Flip Lives!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I went to Greece on a business trip and learned that (a non-Disney) Pinocchio has his own thick digest-sized comic book there, with an amusing logo:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pinoke.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.harrymccracken.com\/blog\/archives\/pinoke.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the backup features is about a character named Otto&#8211;and he&#8217;s a dead ringer for Ub Iwerks&#8217; Flip the Frog:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"flipotto.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.harrymccracken.com\/blog\/archives\/flipotto.jpg\" width=\"326\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is, I presume, a coincidence. (I don&#8217;t read Greek, so I&#8217;m not even sure if Otto is amphibian; you don&#8217;t need to look anything like a frog to look like Flip.)
