Left: Basha is a chain of Lebanese fast-food restaurants with nifty neon signs (the slicing arm is animated). Right: Here I am at Le Biftheque, one of a chain of Canadian steakhouses that expanded (unsuccessfully) over the border into the Boston area in the mid-1980s.

Left: Behold Monsieur Muffler, a Francophone competitor of Midas, I guess.. Right: I was a little startled to encounter this ad for a line of Mickey Mouse lingerie. More pictures
